铜器是铸造成品后整体抛光的，明显凸出的部位，抛光机器可以抛到，所以比较明亮，但是细节角落是抛光不到的，所以铜器的色泽是由过度的。因为铜器外表面没有任何涂层做掩饰，铸铜产品在干燥的地方一般不会生锈。如果接触到水，潮湿的空气，因为是黄铜材料制作，铜器的局部会出现铜锈的，而且表面会随着时间慢慢氧化，光泽度会有所下降，不过这都没有关系，只要用棉布蘸醋或者油，用力擦洗，便可光亮如新。
